So does this sound crazy...? I want to frog this. First off... I hate this yarn. It's a two ply and it just stinks. It is making the increase "holes" look even bigger. My friend who purchased the kit with the appropriate yarn, started it today and let me tell you, ... the three ply Merino is beautiful. This yarn is also from the same maker but it's just not giving me the warm and fuzzy feeling that I like when I make a project. I'm not sure what to do.... Thoughts?

Sometimes you can't really stray from what the pattern calls for. If you're not happy with it and you won't feel right giving it as a gift, get the right yarn and start over!
Frog it,otherwise you wll not be happy,the right material always makes it a better project,your time and effort always call for the right yarn no matter what!!!!!
Looks like you're almost finished, and judging by the pic, it looks great!
